I wonder if anyone has tips about how to bet in pot limit Omaha and Omaha 8?

Deep stack betting in Omaha hi seems to require good reading skills, which I don't have, so I stick to a shortstack type strategy, basically only playing starting hands where I would like to go all in if I could. Since I usually can't due to the pot limit factor, that usually means limping, but if someone raises enough so I can reraise close to all-in then I do that.

One thing I wonder a lot about is when I am pot committed. I guess having maybe 30% of my stack in before the flop means I am pot committed, since I would have enough equity after the flop to go all-in no matter what. But I prefer to get a lot more than 30% of my stack in before the flop if I can.

I'm not a great Omaha player, I can do alright and win some hands. The person who could help you here is KentuckyJim or Gobette. They both could offer some insight to this thread.

I think 30% would be somewhat pot committed, but the key to this game I feel is getting pot committed only if you can back into a high when you're on a low draw. I don't think you should be raising much pre flop let alone reraising someone pre flop.

Thanks!!! I'm starting to get hang of pot limit betting, but what works for me seems to be a little different from what I've read in some of the books on the subject :-)

Pot limit IMO can be just as scary as Omaha. Do you think they have any similarities Gob?
