Top 5 get paid. There are 6 people left. What is the best strategy. Should you just not play a hand until one person bust. Or should you play a little more aggresive to take advantage of players who aren't willing to gamble. Does your strategy only rely on how many chips you have.

Assuming you have a average size stack of chips you want to get a read on the table if the table goes tight loosen up if the table goes loose tighten up just read the flow of the game. Just because you are 1 from the money why change what got you that close in the 1'st place.

Yes the first goal is to get into the money and not die on the bubble. But and it is a big but, the ultimate goal is to win it all.
My opinion and the advice I have seen from some big internet winners in tournaments is this..
When allot people get to the bubble they get sheepish and want to bide their time until they are safe in the money. If this is the case in a tournament you are in, it can be a great opportunity to get a little aggressive and pick up some chips. chips that will help you towards the ultimate goal of winning. I have seen this to be true in allot of cases. Allot of People seem to stop playing on the bubble or are easily pushed around because they do not want to risk it. If you notice this then pick up some blinds and extra chips for the push to the win.
I would say this is an integral part of a winning tournament strategy.
Oh yes, it does depend on stack size because if you try and push all your chips just to be aggressive but are sitting on a small stack players wont have the need to fold. You will get called just because it pays them to call on almost any hand. You have to watch your "fold equity". If you are small stacked then the strategy changes altogether, but I will leave that for another time or post.
Did you take first in the freeroll? You were playing really well and aggressive throughout. (congrats). So you probably don't need the advice but it is a good subject.
It was funny because when we went head to head in pots we kept tying. I donked out though at the end (4th). My friends came over and I wasn't concentrating at the end..well it doesn't matter, no excuses. Anyway I hope I can play this weekend, I look forward to playing you again.

Stick to your guns. You have made it this far by playing good solid poker. Do not get to caught up over next person out doesnt get paid. Keep playing the same way your playing and make smart decisions.
Stack size is a big deal. Are you the short stack? If so by how much? are you the short stack but it is still a pretty even table with the others? If your not the short stack how short is he compared to the table? If he doubles up will he be the short stack still or top 3 or even big stack at the table?
If its reletively even and the short stack is only maybe a few blinds less then some of you I say stick to just solid calls and maybe not anything to crazy.
If he is short stack and even a double up will keep him short I would attack him with good hands. Force them to make a decision if you have a good hand for all his chips. I know some may not agree with this but usually thats how I try and do it when it is close to the bubble and the short stack is extremely low.
IMO you do not want to become a sheep and sit back and let someone else possibly take all his chips and build a bigger chip stack if you have the oppertunity.
again thats what I would do but I would say the best thing to do is keep doing what you have been doing to get to this point. No need to vary to much from that. Some may be getting desperate at this point depending how short.

Your welcome. I am just passing along what people here have shared with me, what I have picked up while playing, reading, etc. I have allot to learn and experience to gain. Gob's site is pretty cool when people are posting and sharing their experiences. I hope more people will post and continue posting.
We are all on different levels of play but the more we share the more we learn as well.
Living in Hawaii, my only playing choice is online. I would love to get into the casinos again but that is the price for living in paradise. LOL
Take care and hope to see you around, here (PokerGob) and online.

Well, there is some really great info in this post. Everyone who answered has great advice.
I would look for the person who is waiting for someone to bust out then bully that player.
I am not saying I would do something silly or crazy, I just would be more likely to play aggressively against the player who is trying to coast into the money by folding.
