I started out watching family play many many moons ago. As kids we didn't get to play but I had a natural interest in it and would watch. My uncle was actually a very good player and could win $1000's at home game's with his friends.
Years later... I get my taste of home games pre-internet and begin getting the crap kicked out of me. I learn from the beats and my uncle's advice. Internet becomes widely available and I begin playing online. I learned while I lost and won some. My first year I wasn't rich but hadn't lost any money. I may have made $500 over my bank roll. For a working man making a small salary that was acceptable.
A couple years later I started going on yearly trips to Vegas with friends. Glad they didn't want to see any shows together. I hit the Hold'Em table and didn't leave. Joined my first tournament and placed 5th in the money. Made somewhere around $500 roughly as it was a small tournament just under 100 people. In between Vegas trips I play online to try and learn more and more.
You can call this my passion. One day I want to have a seat at a big tournament with big names, look them in the eye and rake in the chips. Dreams are what keep us getting out of bed every day aren't they?

I vaguely remember a hand I played in Vegas several years ago.
I was at a small no-limit Hold'Em table and had just taken down a sizeable pot for the blinds. Somewhere around $300 maybe. Apparently, the guy that I had taken the chips from was fairly pissed off and didn't mind showing it. He loudly said ALL IN when the action came around to him. I figured he had was either on tilt n trying to steal the blinds or lucked out and had a decent enough hand.
I looked down at my cards and saw Bullets. A nice rush of adrenaline ran through my body. The table folded around to me, I called and than it folded back around. We go to a showdown and my opponent turns over KK. When he sees my AA he is physically sick. Cussing and being just plain stupid. Flop comes, A,K,7 I believe. We both hit sets. Turn and River are no help to him and I take down over a $500 pot. He rushes off through the casino screaming and hollering. No idea how he didn't get thrown out. Guess they are used to that behavior there.

Down to earth guy, love my babies and playing poker. And a lot of times those two come together. I have my kids addicted to trying to beat Daddy haha. My oldest has a good shot.
Disabled Marine to 10 year Law Enforcement career.
If you can think of it, Police wise, I've either done it, seen it or cleaned it up afterwards. Rammed cars in high speed pursuits? Got the video. Shootings? I'll show you my Medal of Honor. Kind of a been there done that thing. And I don't mind talking about it for you enthusiasts.
