Well I am writing this blog to inform PokerGob members as of Thursday, June 19th we will be closing the "Send Gob To Vegas Fund" and with many regrets to report that Mark will not be attending the WSOP event unless we come up with the remaining $2k needed for the trip, I am so dissapointed in the members of this site, I feel like we have let Gob down by not supporting him, after all he is the one that makes this site possible for us, he takes his own money to make it possible for us to have these freerolls and in return the members cannot seem to support him by giving back a little to help with the expense of the trip, I do wish to thank those members who did support Mark with their donations, they are deeply appreciated but as we know just a handful of members cannot pull this off, it takes the particpation of all members to make this happpen, so again as of Thursday, June 19th we will no longer accept any donations for this fund..

Every presidential candidate running for office has told us that our government is not only broken, it is corrupt. Every Democrat has told us that the Republicans are incapable of solving America’s problems and every Republican has told us that the Democrats are incapable of solving America’s problems. Could it be that finally they are both telling us the truth? Maybe it is finally time to start listening to them. Our country has been under control of these two groups forever, each one controlling our laws, our money and the rules of the game and our future. If we wake up today with the realization that America is broken and corrupt, who would you blame other than these two groups? The question now has to be asked: If it is these two groups that are responsible for the situation that America finds itself in, why in the world would you ask these same two groups to fix the problem? Isn’t it like going to Al Capone and complaining to him that there is drugs and prostitution out on the streets and we need his help taking care of the problem? When are the American people going to wake up and wise up? We have a multitude of serious problems in our country, but those problems are not going to be resolved by the same people who participated in taking the bribes from the special interest and lobbyists, from the organizations that prospered from giving us these problems. Just because you refer to the 10 Commandments, it does not necessarily mean that you are referring to organized religion; it just means that you are referring to 10 laws that can keep society civil. As we struggle with environmental problems of epic proportions and the government comes up with great ideas like lowering emissions by 2 percent by the year 2020, keep in mind we could lower emissions tomorrow by nearly 15 percent if we just did what the Ten Commandments command us to do, rest one day a week. It would not only be great for society, it would allow the planet to breathe. Thou shall not steal is another commandment. When one person takes a person’s money without asking and spends it on something without asking, that act is considered a crime. But, why is it that when nine people on the city council or 150 people in state capitals or 535 people in Washington, D.C., take our money without asking us and spend it on things without asking us, that act is not a crime? We have individuals filling our prisons who have done less stealing than the politicians in office. When politicians do it, it is not a crime. Shouldn’t stealing be considered stealing, by whomever does it? Thou shall not kill is another commandment. “Shock and awe” was an act celebrated by the people who run our country. Tens if not hundreds of thousands of people were killed intentionally. Our prisons are filled with people who intentionally killed others. Shouldn’t killing be considered killing? Thousands of years ago, a man said, “I didn’t come to change any laws but to fulfill them.” He also said that there shall come a day when the last will be first and the first will be last. The miracle of communication technology that we have available to us today can allow that moment prophesied thousands of years ago to be today. When are we a society and a country going to stand up and do our part to fulfill the legacy that was once promised? American women wouldn’t have a voice today if they did not have the courage to stand up and demand a voice on their future. African-American people would not have a voice today if they did not stand up and demand the same. When are the American people going to stand up together and demand a voice on their future? We are voting on “American Idol,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Miss America,” CNN, Fox and the list goes on. The television can now be used for something other than sex and violence. It can now be used to present issues to the American people. Touch-tone phones can now be used as voting devices. Computer technology is now available to count our votes and prevent us from voting more than once. It is now possible to have a computer system in each community that will contain citizen participation identification numbers. The computer will verify the voter and prevent multiple voting. We can now have issues presented and voted on, of, by and for the people. A real democracy that can turn every citizen into being his own representative, allowing us to get away from the political circus that is being shoved down our throats, and allowing us to be owners of America, not just the taxpaying slaves. As we struggle to keep organized religion from controlling government and our lives, it does not mean that God can’t participate in helping us guide the direction of our planet and the future. One of the most intelligent people I have ever known called me to his bedside as he was dying. He left me with a phrase which I believe can help us all. He said, “Always remember, vox populi, vox dei, the voice of the people is the voice of God.” Do we want to continue to be led and controlled by politicians or are we ready to be led and controlled by a higher intelligence? That intelligence is all of us working together today to solve these problems and make the world a better place for the children and generations to come. 
It is now up to us. Do we stand up like the women did and the black people did or do we continue to be held hostage to a small minority of people on city or county councils and politicians in state capitals and Washington, D.C.? Well once again many members of PokerGob has dissapointed me,,,, Last night we had 2 not 1 but 2 freerolls for PokerGob members and had very dissapointing turnouts,as a matter of fact, Skill, Taz, and myself had to go on pokerari to spam the tables to get enough players to be able to play the tournament, even though we have more than enough members on PokerGob to hold tournaments for some reason many members just cant seem to show up..... you would think out of the 599 members belonging to PokerGob that we could at least get enough members to participate, It seems to me, that for all that Gob does for us, that we as members could at least show up for the tournaments that he arranges for us, its hard enough for him to get tournaments with a low # of entries, and then to top it off we have to go to the sites to get players that are not even members to play, now that is really sad, So I think that its time for ALL MEMBERS not just the same handful to do their part in our community and start showing up for these tournaments, I would hate to see us lose our tournaments becaue we simply can't get enough members to participate, I mean if your not going to be a part of our community and participate, Why even join the site, So after saying this I hope in the future that all members will show their interest in the site and start showing up to play the tournaments...... GL to everyone and hope to see you all on the felt.........
And no excuses this time from any member for not being able to get the password in time it was posted well in advance for this tournament.....

I am really dissapointed in Pokergob members right now, because of the lack of members that registered for the pokerari freeroll it was cancelled, I mean come on people we really need to be more active and start participating more on the site, instead of just the same handful of members who do log on and are active... I have noticed that alot members havent logged on in over a month, I do understand that people work and have familys and other engagements, but it ony takes a few minutes to log on check out the posts and the events and other activities going on... Pokergob himself really works hard to get these tournaments for us and to make this site more enjoyable, so the least we as the members can do is to be more active and particpate more in these tournaments, I am afraid if we dont start getting more members to participate these poker sites wont want to offer us any more tournaments, so start logging in register for the events and become more active, I think we really need thank Pokergob for making this site possible for us, I havent found another site as good as this one, especially that has webcam poker and live radio and TV shows, so show your support for YOUR site and be active, Hope to see you all in the next tournament and Hope to see you on the felt......
Gone are the days when gambling was a male-dominated field. Historically speaking, men ruled the gambling arena playing various casino games as their pastime. WHY WOMEN PLAY ONLINE:

Accessibility is the most obvious reason why women play online. It's common knowledge that despite women's lib, women still bear the brunt of a double life as homemakers and career women. With all of their responsibilities, it's not fair to have them work hard for their entertainment, is it? This is the niche explored by the online gaming industry for women. With an Internet connection and a bank account, women can start playing immediately. There's no need to dress up in fancy clothes, suffer in high heels, wear make-up, and endure hours-long drive just to play in a casino. They can plop down in front of the computer on slow weekend mornings in their pajamas and bathrobes and find somebody to play with online. It's that easy with no painstaking scheduling, reservations, and snooty ushers to deal with.
Of course, with accessibility comes convenience. Playing online had proved to be convenient for many people but it proved to be doubly convenient for women. With all the cooking, laundry, cleaning, child-rearing, checkbook balancing, power lunches, and board meetings, who has time to run to the bank and withdraw? Certainly not women. With hectic schedules full of soccer practices, recitals, Sunday lunches, and parent-teacher conferences, who has time to learn a new game? Certainly not women. But these was before online gaming came into the picture. Playing games online made things a lot easier for women. For one, they can learn to play a game easily with tutorials and guides provided by most online gaming sites. Secondly, they can start playing instantly because online gaming works closely with online banking. Women can easily transfer funds from their bank account to their gaming account to start playing immediately. More importantly, winnings are also easily collected as these are automatically deposited to their bank accounts. Now that's convenience!
Socializing is another reason why women play online. According to the Nielsen Entertainment study, women players report that meeting different fun and interesting persons online is one come-on factor of online games. Although one can meet exciting persons in person, the anonymity provided by online games proves to be a confidence booster for many. The potential for meeting as many people as possible is also maximized in online games. Women can talk to multiple players at the same time without offending anyone by using the chat applications available in most online gaming rooms. Playing and talking at the same time provide women the much-needed connection to other people in the comforts of their own home. Being in their comfort zone allows women to be more spontaneous and relaxed in interacting with other people. This is one advantage live casinos can't compete in.

Tryed the new webcampoker out tonite, and this was a brilliant idea of Gob's, it is so cool, have to admit makes online poker alot more interesting, everyone should give it a try, its really cool  to you Gob on this feature.
