Has anyone here ever played in a WSOP or WPT event? If so, what was it like? Is it intimidating at all? How did you do?

Does anyone else think that Sammy Farha should have beaten moneymaker the year he won the WSOP? Do you think Chris was a One hit wonder, so to speak? Don’t hear much about him anymore.  Any thoughts?

Would you consider playing at a friends house against some of their friends you don’t know, harder than playing at a casino against total strangers? Do you think there is any king of advantage to playing in a less stressful environment? Think it would be easier to pick up the reads on people in a comfortable situation?? Your thoughts please……

Live games (the mad monster)
Posted On 04/19/2008 06:41:33

A couple weeks ago I was playing a game of poker at a friends house for just $10 buy-in. One hand I was dealt crap and folded and it came down to Tim and Ray pre-flop. Ray doubled the blind pre-flop and Tim called. Flop brings Q hearts Q spades 3 clubs. Ray bets out and Tim calls. Turn is a 7 clubs. Ray checks and Tim makes a big bet, about 4x the big blind. Ray calls. River brings a J clubs. Ray immediately goes all-in and Tim calls. Tim flips over the boat Q,3. Ray slams his cards facedown on the table and storms out of the house. He walks up the street and decide to beat up a stop sign. When we flipped his cards he had 3, 2. We all said we didn’t understand what he was so mad about because in reality we didn’t think he should have stayed in the hand.  But anyway now we call him The Mad Monster cause he considers it a bad beat. Whats your take on this and do you have anyone like this around?  Oh and if he ever comes to your town make sure to hide all your stop signs!!!!

Did I make the right play?

In a $120 buy-in tourney with the top seven getting a ticket to a 100 grand tourney and cash payout to 30th, there are 150 total entries and the tourney is down to 40 people. Sitting in early position I get dealt AA. Blinds are 2000/4000 and I bump it up to 8000. Big blind folds and a mid position guy goes all in for 17,000. everyone folds and I had to decide whether to call or not. I folded because it was too close to the money to take a chance to double them up and leave myself with only 3000 in chips. What would you do? Is there a better way I should have played instead of the raise I made?

Draws

Should you call a big bet/raise on the flop with a straight flush draw, flush draw or a straight draw if not in early position?

Which poker site would you choose if you could only play on one site? What makes that one poker site better than the others to you?
