This covers players on a table who are over agressive, and NL cash game. Please take note of that;
on a normal table, waking up with aces in any position is something a player loves to see, but how to get the best value out of them on an aggressive table with lunatic players?
Well do you want to raise it up early? I say no and here is why;
You raise there, and it is likely you get 3 callers that have any 2 cards. I see this all the time online. While you are still the favorite, you do not have position and based on the flop, those aggressive players can have anything from 2 pair a draw, etc, etc I do not like that online because with online poker there is too much variance ( some people say too much rigged, heh, it is not, which I will cover in another blog)
I'd rather limp there early on an aggressive table because it is likely with nutball lunatics, someone later WILL RAISE THE POT.. now this is what I really want, I want to be able to be in a position to reraise and get the other limpers out of the pot. Less hand in with AA = better EV and a chance to really put a hurt on an over aggressive donkey. I might get a reraise back at which point I would be willing to shove.
I know this sounds strange, but so is online poker. This has about always worked out better for me online on a table with over aggressive donkeys.
